OVGP2 Season 2

OVGP2 is a ten-week eighteen-race series in Assetto Corsa using a lightly modified version of the Formula RSS 2 V8. The GP2 car is a Dallara chassis mated to a 4.0L Mecachrome V8 producing 612hp. The car features high downforce and mechanical grip, making the series the third-fastest open-wheel racing series globally.

Format

Similar to real Formula 2, Each 'weekend' will consist of 20 minutes' Qualifying, a 90km Feature Race, and a 40km Sprint Race. The Sprint Race will use a reverse grid from the results of the Feature Race. Points for the Feature Race will be awarded out to 15th place, while points in the Sprint Race will only be awarded down to 10th place.

Calendar

The Series will be held over ten weeks, starting at 20:00 UTC on 1 June 2019, and ending with the final race on 3 August 2019, with a break over the 4th of July weekend. The season may be truncated not to include the final race at Nurburgring.

Rules/Settings

  • Penalties will be disabled, with the exception of jump-starts, which will be awarded a drive-through. Please don't cut.
  • Damage will be set to 20%.
  • Track condition will be Optimum (100%) with wind speed of 0.
  • Fuel Consumption and Tire Wear will be set to 1x.

Q: Will you be using Mumble? A: No. Any necessary information will be disseminated in the thread and on the Google Sheet before the race.

Q: Is the car hard to drive? A: Yes and no. It's one of the easiest open-wheelers you can drive. That said, it does have a lot of power for how light it is, and no traction control or ABS. If you're losing the tail under braking, shift the brake balance forward. If you're locking up too much, brake less hard. If you're spinning the wheels on corner exit, be more patient.
