OVGWRC
/ovg/ WRC is our weekly Sunday series in Dirt Rally 2.0 organised by RBDK. Note that on weekends where RBDK is traveling (happens a lot) and cannot be present to host the main lobby, the series will skip this week. Such weekends will be announced in advance on the doc.
If you want to join, please sign up and keep an eye on the Google Document for more information.

How Do I Join?
Ensure you have added RBDK as a steam friend. If you don't know how to do that or where to ask you have been filtered.
Before the start of each rally the server will be set up as invite only. RBDK as the host will invite all drivers.
Restart Procedure
No such thing in a rally, so take care and go a little slower.
Rules
The inaugural /ovg/ WRC season will be using the "Up to 2000cc" class of Dirt Rally which consists of the Citroën C4 WRC, Ford Focus RS WRC '01, Ford Focus RS WRC '07, Peugeot 206 WRC, Skoda Fabia WRC, Subaru Impreza S4 WRC, Subaru Impreza WRC '01 and Subaru Impreza WRC '07. Car choice will be open per event if you want to drive a new car every week or if you want to tryhard.
Rally location will be decided via a spin of the wheel 15 minutes before the start of the event. Like in AC Legends, I will stream the wheel spin so you can see there's no fuckery. If we have driven a location, it will automatically be eliminated from contention for the rest of the series.
Each rally will consist of 8 stages. The 4 full length runs plus 4 smaller sections. Time to complete will vary from weekend to weekend. The stage sets and conditions are predetermined by organizer to save time, but if you think that's cheating you're a bit of a brainlet. Practice, if you must, by running the 4 full length stages.
Server will have all driver assists set to off, and a wait time when the first driver finishes of 120 seconds. In other words, if you cannot make it to the line within 2 minutes of the fastest guy (real time, does not count any penalties awarded by the game), you will DNF in the game system.
Should you miss a week, you will be given the slowest time of any finishing driver as a "filler" for the week, but you will not be awarded points. Same goes if you choose to participate later during the season - you will retroactively get the slowest time from the previous events.
Points
We are using the Dirt Rally 2.0 point system. In other words I will take a screenshot at the end of each event and use those points. I will however also keep track of the total event time, so there will be a winner based on points and a winner based on total time for all the rallies. On weeks where the lobbies are filled so more are required, another participant will host a second server and take screenshots of stage time etc for the final results which will be ranked by the total time for the rally, so it doesn't matter what lobby you're in. You can be 1st in one lobby but last in the other.
Server
Dirt Rally 2.0 does not allow for dedicated servers. Because of this, manual lobbies will be created. That is why you need RBDK as a steam friend so you can get an invite. On weeks where the lobbies are filled so more are required, another participant will host a second server and take screenshots of stage time etc for the final results.
Why aren't you doing this my way in my game of choice you're a bad organizer
Because Dirt Rally 2.0 has been available for years for no money through the Humble Bundles and the like, has varied content, can be played even by keyboardfags easily, supports VR natively, and doesn't require a million mods to work as intended.
It also allows us to run synchronized and have a lobby system rather than do the typical "run at some point during the week" which allows for actually talking about the stage/rally after finishing.
Skins Guideline
No such thing on Dirt Rally.
FAQ
- Presence on Mumble is not mandatory, but highly encouraged. Note that since we're relying on co-driver callouts, I recommend having a mute and deafen toggle bound so you can do this at the start of the stage and toggle it off at the end of the stage for oral shitposting.
- While the series is open for anyone to join, please practice until you feel comfortable around the track before joining the race.
