Download and Installation Instructions
iRacing is not a piratable game. You will need to make an account and subscribe if you don't already have one, and you will also need to buy at least one GT3 car of your choice. If you are entirely new to iRacing and don't have strong car preferences, a number of cars are considered "Legacy" because they don't run in official series anymore. They cost $2.95 so buy one of those if you wanna do this for cheap, but consider that you will have no use for this car after the series is over.
How Do I Connect to the Server?
On the left side of the iRacing UI, click on "Go Race" then on "Hosted Sessions". The session will be named according to the naming scheme:
/ovgt3/ Season 8 Round X: Track Name
The server will not be available until an hour before the race.
Please note that you can only ever join the session with one car. If you choose eg. the Porsche 911 GT3 R, drive a couple of laps, then regret your choice you cannot change the car. This is an iRacing limitation and not a rule I'm forcing on you. Test your car of the week offline or in iRacings own sessions because there is no way around this.

- Porsche 911 R GT3 (992)

$2.95+VAT Options
- Mercedes AMG GT3
- Ferrari 488 GT3
- BMW Z4 GT3
- Porsche 911 R GT3
Not allowed cars
- Matech Ford GT3
- RUFs
Note these are simply because I can only allow 12 different vehicles in the same session, and these are outdated and so rarely used it really can't matter much.
Rules
Session will have one hour of free practice, a 10 minute quali session followed by two races, 30 minutes each. Rolling start.
Logically this means the session won't be up until an hour before the race start. If you need to practice you'll unfortunately have to do it by yourself. Sucks, but a consequence of iRacings hosting system.
Don't drive like an idiot, and pay attention to the flags.
Don't flip Marko Tulska. Unless it's Flip Marko Tulska Day or if flipping him would be really funny.
Car Number and Banner
Make sure to set the number that you enter with MANUALLY on your car before entering the event. This is done in the iRacing UI by going to My Content->Cars, clicking on your GT3 car, then clicking on Paint Car in the bottom right. Change the preferred number to whatever you put on the doc, hit Save Car Design and you should be good.
If you should want to, there is a /ovgt3/ season banner available to run in your front window. You may need to edit the above slightly to fit all cars.
Restart Procedure
Race cannot be restarted. That's how iRacing works. You'll have to drive like you mean it for once.
Because of this, each car will have 1 "Fast Repair" per race (that is, two per event, but you can only use one per race). You pit and the car is instantly returned to factory fresh. This works ONCE. Use it wisely.
Car Choice
No limits. Pick whatever car you want and feel free to change cars every round, but make sure to have your car of choice updated on the doc or the session might not allow it.
Track Limits and iRacing Incident Points
Feel free to run wide on corner entry/exit, just expect to be called a pussy and insulted in public especially if you wreck someone because of it. Note that iRacing has an auto penalty system for cutting the track that will force you to slow down for a little bit. This will NOT be turned off as turning it off disables other things we want like yellow flags being displayed.
iRacing incident points will be set to 100 for the race. That will be VERY DIFFICULT to reach even if you try. Note that hosted sessions do not affect your safety rating.
Skins Guideline
If you've never made a skin for iRacing before, nor understand how to export a spec map, here's a barebones guide
Skins will be submitted to Trading Paints. You need to submit a car_(cust.id).tga and a car_spec_(cust.id).mip where the (cust.id) will be your own customer ID. It is just a few numbers, so for instance the files would be called car_12345.tga and car_spec_12345.mip.
Upload the skin to https://www.tradingpaints.com/dashboard by clicking on the car you are racing on the left, then clicking Paint Options on the right. That's also where you click to upload the .mip file after.
If you have no talent or will to create your own skin, you can also just browse to one on Trading Paints for your car and choose it to race. https://www.tradingpaints.com/showroom/filter/from=everyone,sort=popular,ad=DESC,pos=0
Note that the $2.95 legacy cars appear at the BOTTOM of the list as [Legacy].
Extra Stuff
- Do you want to be at least decent at racing? Are you shit? Are you new to multiplayer racing games and you don't think you're shit? Please read How to Practice and Finish Well.
- Presence on Mumble is not mandatory, but encouraged. Especially if you want to hear dumb chatter and the occasional funny rage, or if your game shits the bed it's much easier to get help with it quickly that way.
- While the series is open for anyone to join, please practice until you feel comfortable around the track before joining the race.
- These cars use varying amounts of ABS and TCS in real life. Do not be ashamed to activate them if you are struggling. The default is ON and can be adjusted on the fly.
What about setups?
We have access to a few setup shops, so setups may be shared if you don't like to make your own or don't like the iRacing default ones.
HOW MUCH FUEL DO I NEED?
1800(which is 30 minutes in seconds)/leader's fastest lap in seconds=amount of laps for race.
Look at your HUD and at the bottom right it shows you your fuel left and how much you use per lap. Multiply that by the amount of laps for the race.
ex. On a track that takes the leader 1:30 to get around: 1800/90=20 20*3.10L per lap=62L needed for the race.
Note that the fuel calculator in iRacing is actually quite accurate, so if you run a test stint with 10L and see what the calculator says you'll make it's probably true. You can also have the game automatically give you race time left +1 lap of fuel on a pitstop.
Wat Car Iz Gud?
iRacing changes car BoP often. You can't count on it being stable for the whole season. Also note the Legacy cars are unbalanced with the other cars, so they MAY be faster or slower. I don't own them to test it.
